Advocating for Change in Maternal Health

At Solo Stork, advocacy isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are. We work to ensure maternal health is prioritized in policies, practices, and conversations at every level. From local communities to federal legislation, we use our platform to elevate the voices of mothers and push for meaningful change that protects and uplifts families everywhere.

Key Areas of Advocacy

Access to Comprehensive Maternal Healthcare

We advocate for affordable, quality care before, during, and after pregnancy so that no mother is left behind.

Paid Family Leave & Workplace Protections
We believe no woman should have to choose between her health and her livelihood. We support stronger policies for paid leave and workplace protections for pregnant and postpartum women.

 Closing Maternal Health Disparities
We work to address the racial, economic, and systemic inequalities contributing to poor maternal health outcomes through education and policy change.

Maternal Mental Health Support
We advocate for expanded access to maternal mental health services, recognizing the critical role mental health plays in both maternal and infant well-being.

 Lactation & Postpartum Support
We support policies and workplace initiatives that ensure mothers have access to safe spaces for breastfeeding and pumping, along with education and support services.

Ending Maternal Health Stigma
We work to dismantle harmful narratives surrounding single motherhood, maternal mental health, and the postpartum experience through advocacy, education, and awareness.

Our Work In Action

Through Solo Stork, we proudly advocate for policies that protect and support mothers at both the federal and state levels including the Preventing Maternal Deaths Act, the PREEMIE Reauthorization Act, and Pennsylvania’s Paid Family Leave Bill. In partnership with organizations like March of Dimes and Maternity Care Coalition, we work to ensure maternal health remains a priority in every conversation shaping the future of families.
